Weddings and Babies

Al works as a photographer in New York. He earns his living shooting weddings and babies. The work is irregular and the money never quite stretches. Bea has worked alongside him for a long time. She is also the woman he is with. She is turning thirty and wants to marry. Al is not ready to take that step. He is trying to build the business up. At the same time he is caring for his ailing mother. Three burdens rest on him at once. In time Bea begins to suspect something. She thinks he is delaying the marriage on purpose. That is how the tension between them grows. The film was shot on the streets of New York. The story moves through ordinary daily life. Viveca Lindfors and John Myhers appear in the seventy eight minute film, an American production Morris Engel finished in 1960.
