What Welcome to the Space Show Is About
Five children at a summer camp they are running themselves find a wounded animal. The animal turns out to be a dog-like alien, and it talks. To thank them it takes the whole group to an alien colony on the Moon. Then things go wrong: because of the report he files about the ones who hurt him, passage from the Moon to Earth is banned and the children are stranded in space. They have to get back before camp ends, or their parents will find out they are missing. Koji Masunari's anime runs over two hours. It is a space opera, a summer-holiday film and a chase with poachers all at once. What the children want is not to save the universe but to get home on time.
