What Where the Day Takes You Is About
Homeless kids living around Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles. King is the most experienced among them and their leader in practice, having hit the street as a child himself. Around him are Little J, who sells himself, Greg, who is using, and others. When Heather arrives from Chicago the balance in the group shifts, and nobody's life changes. Marc Rocco's film comes from the street end of early-nineties American independent cinema. Sean Astin, Lara Flynn Boyle, Balthazar Getty and Will Smith are in the cast. It offers no solution and never reaches for optimism; the drift in the title runs through the whole film.
