White Frog

Nick is sixteen and has Asperger's syndrome. Nobody at home pays him much attention; his parents are a traditional Chinese American couple. When his older brother Chaz is killed in an accident, Nick has nothing left to hold on to. Then Chaz's friends take him in among them, and Nick starts learning things about his brother he never knew. The largest of them is this: Chaz was gay and had never found the courage to tell his parents. Quentin Lee directs, with Booboo Stewart as Nick and Harry Shum Jr. as Chaz. Joan Chen and BD Wong play the parents. The film is about grief and about the thing a family could not see.
