What Will Is About
Will is eleven, a fanatical Liverpool supporter, and boarding at a school in the south of England. One day his father Gareth turns up with two tickets: the 2005 Champions League final, in Istanbul. Then Gareth dies. Will runs away from school and decides to get to Istanbul on his own. In Paris his path crosses that of Alek, a former Bosnian footballer, and the two of them carry on together. Ellen Perry ties the boy's journey to the 2005 final itself, the match Liverpool won after going in three goals down at half time. Damian Lewis and Bob Hoskins are in the cast.
