The story of the team Frank Williams built: a start with no money, the first championships, and the road accident he had in France in 1986. It left him paralysed from the neck down, and he went on running the team from there. Morgan Matthews directed. The documentary's real material is the family's private archive: home video, photographs, and passages from the book written by Frank's wife Virginia Williams, performed in her own voice. The telling is a family portrait more than a racing history. Frank putting the team before everything, his determination after the crash and what that cost his wife and children are the main subject. His daughter Claire Williams taking over the team is the second thread. Formula One archive is used but the film does not go into technical detail; it is aimed at people who do not follow racing too. Ayrton Senna's death in a Williams car in 1994 is a separate and heavy section. Who it is for: viewers who like sports documentary and family portraits together.
