Wind River

Taylor Sheridan's 2017 film opens with a body found on a reservation in Wyoming. Cory, a hunter, works with a young federal agent. The conditions of the place make the investigation harder. The film places the crime inside the climate and the neglect; the narrative states directly that no count is kept of missing Indigenous women. It is the director's first film; he was known until then for his screenplays. The snow scenes were shot in real conditions. The violence is hard and a sexual assault is shown.
