What Wolf Is About

Majid grew up on a Dutch estate and has just come out of prison. He goes back to the kickboxing gym, and it turns out he is genuinely good; his trainer believes something will come of him. At the same time he gets pulled into what his friends in the neighbourhood are doing: theft, collecting debts, violence. The two lives will not run at once, and Majid has to choose one of them. Jim Taihuttu shot the film in black and white. Marwan Kenzari plays Majid, and the part made his name in the Netherlands. It neither romanticises the immigrant neighbourhood nor blames it; it follows one man's own decisions.
