What Rabat Is About

Three friends drive a taxi from Amsterdam to Rabat to hand it over to a friend of the family. The road is long and does not go the way they planned; each of them has his own reckoning and something left behind, and these come out one by one along the way. Jim Taihuttu and Victor Ponten directed it together, shooting over five weeks in the summer of 2010. Nasrdin Dchar, Achmed Akkabi and Marwan Kenzari play the three. For a small independent production it found an unexpected audience in the Netherlands, and Dchar won the national film award for the performance.
