¿Y cómo es él?

Learning his wife is cheating, Tomas travels to the other end of Mexico to confront the man. The meeting does not go as planned: the man does not know who he is, and the two end up on a long drive in the same car. Tomas can never quite say the truth. Ariel Winograd directed. The structure is a road comedy and its whole mechanism comes from one tension: the audience knows the truth and one of the characters does not. Where it works is in the humour changing direction. The two men genuinely become friends along the way and the idea of revenge grows steadily more absurd. Winograd is an Argentine director working in Mexican mainstream comedy, and the tone sits in the vein the two countries share. It did well at the Mexican box office and was widely seen in regional distribution. Who it is for: viewers who like Latin American mainstream comedy and road films. Who it is not for: anyone after subtlety; the jokes are direct and repeat.
