Yennai Arindhaal

Yennai Arindhaal, directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon and starring Ajith Kumar, is a Tamil film that closes out Menon's "police trilogy," following Kaakha Kaakha and Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu. It follows a retired police officer trying to protect his stepdaughter from a ruthless enemy targeting organ trafficking victims, a man connected to the loss of his lover years earlier while infiltrating a crime syndicate. The cast also includes Trisha Krishnan and Anushka Shetty. The film opened on February 5, 2015, and grossed around 70 crore rupees. Who it's for: anyone curious about the final, emotionally heaviest entry in a director's police themed trilogy, a revenge and protection story spanning decades. Who it's not for: viewers looking for a story directly connected to the director's romantic films, since this belongs to a separate police trilogy, sharing only a thematic kinship with those films.
