What Zone Pro Site: The Moveable Feast Is About
Wan comes home under an enormous debt after her modelling career collapses, and finds that her family’s once famous restaurant has shrunk to a single noodle stand. The situation looks hopeless until a master chef steps in and they try to bring the old craft back to its feet. Chen Yu-hsun builds his film around Taiwan’s tradition of the outdoor banquet, the vast tables set up in the street for weddings and funerals. Loud, colourful and deliberately overblown, it uses food to tell the story of a generational change and a trade that is disappearing.
