Mithat is retired, lives alone, and has been collecting things for sixty years: newspapers, bottles, clocks, books, records. The flat no longer holds the collection. The other residents want the building pulled down and rebuilt, partly from fear of an earthquake and partly for a larger apartment. Mithat will not sign. Ali, the concierge, is after a different life and is making his own calculations. The two men end up needing each other. In the end each of them changes the other's life without noticing. Pelin Esmer directs the Turkish film; a hundred and twenty-five minutes. Mithat is played by Mithat Esmer, the director's uncle and a real collector; she had already made a short documentary about him, The Collector. Nejat İşler plays Ali. It took the screenplay prize at the Golden Boll festival in 2009.
