What 80 Hussars Is About
The account is set in a Hungarian hussar regiment. The regiment serves in the imperial army. They are stationed in Poland. The soldiers are for the greater part ordinary men. News arrives from home. An uprising has begun in Hungary. The country has declared its independence. The hussars want to return and defend it. The Empire will not allow this. Hungarian units are ordered to be kept far away. The reason is plain. The soldiers are known to be loyal to Budapest rather than Vienna. The hussars decide to set out all the same. The road is long and dangerous. Imperial troops are behind them. Dózsa László and György Cserhalmi appear in the one hundred twenty four minute film, a Hungarian production Sára Sándor finished in 1978.
