What A Little Pond Is About

July 1950, a village in the middle of the Korean peninsula. Chang-yee and his friends are excited about a singing contest to be held there; they know nothing of where the war has reached. At that moment American troops falling back arrive at the village and order all the villagers evacuated southward. The people obey soldiers they believe are protecting them and set out; at first the journey is almost like an outing. The film rests on events that really happened and tells what war does to civilians without ever showing the front. Moon Sung-keun appears in Lee Sang-woo’s eighty six minute Korean film, completed in 2010.
