What A Quest for Meaning Is About
Two French childhood friends leave their work behind to go and ask how the world actually functions. Over six months they cross three continents and record twenty-nine interviews, among them Vandana Shiva, Pierre Rabhi, Satish Kumar, Frédéric Lenoir and Trinh Xuan Thuan. The questions circle around our relationship with nature, what happiness is, and what a life is for. Nathanaël Coste and Marc de la Ménardière made it with no funding or subsidy, through a crowdfunding campaign of over nine hundred backers, and it spread almost entirely by word of mouth. It is not a neutral survey but a documentary openly making its case.
