A Shaun the Sheep Movie: Farmageddon

A stop-motion animation set on a farm. The order at Mossy Bottom Farm is settled: the farmer does his work, the dog enforces the rules and the sheep are bored. Shaun invents an entertainment every time and every time things go wrong. One night something falls from the sky. What arrives is a small alien; they name her Lu-La. She is curious, quick and can lift anything she touches into the air. At the same time news spreads in the town and people pour into the area. The farmer turns it to account: he builds a space-themed amusement park on his land. There is also an official agency. Its agents are looking for the alien and are getting close to the farm. The language of the film is entirely visual. There is no dialogue; the narrative is built from movement, sound and expression. That choice has defined the series from the beginning. There are many references to science fiction classics, kept in the background as detail. The animation was made in clay by hand; every scene is shot frame by frame, and the method is the studio's distinguishing feature. Will Becher and Richard Phelan directed. An enjoyable choice for anyone who likes family animation and comedy without words. For a viewer expecting a narrative built on dialogue, this one rests entirely on visual jokes.
