Aaltra

Two neighbours in the Belgian countryside push a feud into a fight, and the fight into a tractor accident that leaves both of them paralysed from the waist down. They go on hating each other, and now they cannot get away from each other either. So they point the anger somewhere else: at Aaltra, the company that made the tractor, in Finland. They set off. Benoît Delépine and Gustave Kervern wrote and directed it together and play the two men; both came out of the Groland satire on French television. Black and white, deadpan, refusing to underline a single feeling. Aki Kaurismäki turns up in it, which fits, since the film grew out of their shared admiration for him.
