What Abrahaminte Santhathikal Is About
Derick Abraham is a hard and rule-bound police officer, counted the best in the force until his brother Philip Abraham is arrested on a murder charge. From then on the case is both an investigation and a test: can the man stay impartial while standing behind someone from his own family, and if he cannot, which side does he give up. The film ties the inquiry to a chain of killings and leaves Derick between his profession and his blood. It is Shaji Padoor’s first film as director, with Haneef Adeni also on the screenplay and music by Gopi Sundar. Mammootty plays Derick and Anson Paul his brother. It opened on 16 June 2018. Reviews split in two: the presence of Mammootty and the score were praised while the script and the action sequences were criticised hard.
