Ad-lib Night

A young woman is stopped in the street. Two men up from the countryside are sure they know her. They have mistaken her for a girl who left their village years ago. Then they realise their mistake. They ask her to stay anyway. They want one night from her. She is to pass as the daughter of a dying man. His last wish is to see that daughter once more. She agrees to stand in. Almost everything that follows happens in a single night. A stranger walks into the house and sits in the daughter’s place. The fragility of family bonds is what the evening exposes. The film is also interested in acting itself. Its Korean title means a very special guest. Han Hyo-joo and Kim Young-min appear in the ninety nine minute film, a South Korean production Lee Yoon-ki finished in 2006.
