One Day

Kang-su is an insurance assessor who lost his wife and has not put himself back together since. A new case takes him to the file of a woman lying in a coma. When he walks into the room he sees her spirit and finds he can talk to her. The woman, Mi-so, does not know what has happened to her. The two of them begin going about together. Lee Yoon-ki's South Korean film uses a fantastical premise as a story about grief. Kim Nam-gil and Chun Woo-hee take the leads. The telling ties the pain to no resolution and tries to console nobody; two people being able to see each other is treated as enough on its own. The tone is calm, the pace slow, and the film never raises its voice.
