Adiós Buenos Aires

The film is set in Buenos Aires. The time is November 2001. Argentina is deep in crisis. The currency loses value by the day. Julio Färber plays the bandoneon. He is in a five-piece tango band. The band is called Vecinos de Pompeya. Julio also keeps a shop. The shoe shop came down to him from his father. What he earns from both is shrinking. In the end he decides to leave the country. But just then the government freezes the bank accounts. Julio cannot buy his plane ticket. Violent protests break out across the city. On top of it a cab driver called Mariela runs into his car. Diego Cremonesi and Marina Bellati take the leads in Germán Kral’s German and Argentine coproduction of 2023.
