Aida's Secrets

Izak was born in Bergen Belsen in 1945. The camp was then in use for displaced persons. The baby was given up for adoption after birth. He grew up in Israel. Years later he begins looking into his past. Who his mother was is unclear. The search reaches a brother living in Canada. Neither brother knew the other existed. The identity of his father turns out to be disputed as well. Information was kept hidden inside the family for years. The documentary opens that up step by step. The account runs from the war years to the present. The film closes on a family reunion. The telling takes the form of a personal investigation. The gap the war opened is still there generations later. Alon Schwarz and Shaul Schwarz directed the ninety five minute documentary. It is a Canadian and Israeli production finished in 2016.
