All Too Well: The Short Film

A fifteen-minute short, divided into seven titled chapters and built end to end on the uncut ten-minute version of the song released in 2021 on Red (Taylor's Version). Taylor Swift wrote and directed it, her first film. Sadie Sink and Dylan O'Brien play a couple whose relationship is going to end. Swift appears briefly in the epilogue as an older version of Sink's character. It was released on 12 November 2021, with theatrical screenings in major cities and festival showings at Tribeca and Toronto in 2022. The reviews were broadly positive. One critic described it as a music video on steroids meeting a Noah Baumbach movie. The award list is long: the Grammy for Best Music Video in 2023, and Video of the Year and Best Direction at the MTV Video Music Awards in 2022. Swift became the first artist to win Best Direction for work she directed herself. It also took the American Music Award for Favorite Music Video.
