Along for the Ride

The documentary takes up Dennis Hopper. Hopper was both an actor and a director. The film follows his career in cinema. The main source of the account is Satya De La Manitou. De La Manitou was his right-hand man for many years. The bond between them spread across forty years. The film tells that relationship as well. Photographs and footage never seen before are used. Names he worked with speak too. David Lynch and Wim Wenders are among them. Damon Albarn appears in the film as well. The work was shown at Venice in 2016. Gemma Thompson wrote the score. Nick Ebeling’s American documentary of 2016 runs a hundred minutes.
