American Desi

Krishna Reddy is starting university. His family came from India. He has never cared about that inheritance. He thinks of himself as entirely American. He is looking forward to a new life on campus. Then he learns who his roommates are. All of them are Indian American. That does not fit his plan. What he was trying to get away from is right there. There is also a girl he likes. For her sake he has things to learn. The film turns all this into comedy. What it is about is being caught between two cultures. Kal Penn, Purva Bedi, Deep Katdare and Rizwan Manji appear in the hundred minute film, an American and Indian production Piyush Dinker Pandya finished in 2001.
