Among Wolves

Marcos is the child of a poor family. At seven he is handed over to the landowner his father works for, who in turn sends him to an old goatherd living in an isolated valley. The man lives in a cave and is not used to the sight of another human face. The boy is frightened too. Even so, the old man teaches him to herd the goats, to set traps, to fish, to stay alive in the mountains. When the goatherd dies, Marcos is left up there alone. Gerardo Olivares directed it from a real life. Marcos Rodríguez Pantoja spent twelve years alone in the Sierra Morena and lived among the wolves. He appears in the film himself. He died in August 2026 at the age of eighty.
