Aniceto

Aniceto lives alone in a small town. He keeps a rooster with him. He is involved in cockfighting. A girl called Francisca comes to the town. She has come looking for work. The two of them meet and become attached. Then Lucía comes into it. Aniceto shows her affection as well. The two women come face to face. The rivalry between them is told through the fighting scenes. The film rests on dance more than on speech. Professional dancers play the roles. The account is a reworking of the director’s own earlier film. Hernán Piquín and Natalia Pelayo take the leads in Leonardo Favio’s Argentine film of 2008.
