Bella and Vipulan are sixteen and believe their own future is at risk. They have been raising the alarm about climate change and the loss of species for years and nothing has changed. This time they decide to go at the root of the problem: the relationship human beings have with the living world. The journey takes them across several continents. Cyril Dion's French documentary does not build a story of catastrophe. Scientists, farmers and figures such as Jane Goodall are talked to along the way. The film puts at its centre the idea that people are not something separate from nature. The telling sells no hope but does look for a way through, and the two young people's own confusion is left plainly in the film.
