Bangkok Nites

Bangkok, 2015. Ozawa is a Japanese man with nowhere to go. On Thaniya Street he meets a woman called Luck. Thaniya is a street whose bars serve Japanese customers only. Luck is at the height of her standing there. The two of them set out on a journey together. Along that road the film looks at the marks colonialism left behind. What they are after it describes as a paradise that was lost. The account runs past three hours and is in no hurry at all. Katsuya Tomita, who directed it, also appears in the cast. Katsuya Tomita’s work, a coproduction of France, Japan, Laos and Thailand, was completed in 2016.
