Being a Human Person

Roy Andersson is a Swedish director. At seventy six he is making his last film. The film is About Endlessness. The shoot runs for three years. The documentary follows that process. Andersson builds everything in his own studio. Each shot is prepared at length. The crew waits patiently. Something else happens in the meantime. Andersson’s relationship with alcohol grows worse. The shoot begins to fall behind. In the end he goes into treatment. The subjects of his films move into his own life. Death, fragility and growing old. The documentary shows this without passing judgement. The ninety minute film is a Swedish and British production Fred Scott finished in 2020.
