Isabel Allende Bussi What Beyond My Grandfather Allende Is About
The documentary takes up Salvador Allende. Allende was the first democratically elected socialist president. He was overthrown by the army in September 1973. The person who made the film is his granddaughter Marcia. Marcia sets out to look for the personal face of her grandfather. That face has been buried under his historical figure. The family is part of that silence too. The years of exile and the pain have made speaking hard. Marcia carries that search from inside the family. The account is built on the effort to break that silence. Isabel Allende Bussi and Ana María Bussi appear in Marcia Tambutti Allende’s Chilean and Mexican coproduction of 2015 as well.
