Birders: The Central Park Effect

The documentary is set in a park in the middle of New York. Central Park is a stop for migrating birds. The park is man made from end to end. It still draws birds moving along the east coast. The birds rest and feed there. The film watches the park across a year. As the seasons turn the species change too. A group walks the park regularly. The birders arrange their days around the migration calendar. They meet in the park early in the morning. Each of them comes from a different life. What they share is the wish to see the birds. The documentary does not make light of that interest. It takes this city habit seriously. Regina Alvarez and Anya Auerbach appear in the sixty one minute documentary. It is an American production Jeffrey Kimball finished in 2012.
