Bison Kaalamaadan

Kittan grows up in a village in the south and plays kabaddi. He plays well; but whether he is picked does not depend on his ability. A feud between two castes has run in the village for years, and it is carried into the team, the trials and the matches. His father is against his playing; he has seen what happens inside that same order and does not want his son to pass through it. Kittan goes on anyway. The violence in the village grows and every match turns into a settling of accounts. To reach the national team he first has to get out of the village. Mari Selvaraj writes and directs. Dhruv Vikram plays Kittan; Pasupathy, Ameer, Lal, Anupama Parameswaran and Rajisha Vijayan are in the cast. The language is Tamil. The character rests on a real player; what the former national kabaddi player Manathi Ganesan lived through is the source. Its ground is the caste violence of 1994 and the conflict between districts. It opened on 17 October 2025 in the Diwali season and later went to Netflix. The matter it treats is not sport but who sport is open to; the film does not offer success as a solution. The father and son strand is its strongest side and stands where both of them are right. Its limit is structure; there are many subsidiary strands and it runs long. Who it is for: viewers who like Tamil cinema and sports drama on social ground. Who it is not for: the violence is hard, it runs long, and the shape is familiar.
