What Bob Biswas Is About
Bob Biswas comes out of a long coma and cannot remember who he is: not his wife, not his children, not the work he used to do. As it emerges slowly that this man who looks like an ordinary insurance agent is in fact a hitman, he is caught between remembering and getting free of what he remembers. The character comes out of Sujoy Ghosh’s Kahaani from 2012, where Saswata Chatterjee played him; here Abhishek Bachchan takes him over. It is Diya Annapurna Ghosh’s first film, written again by Sujoy Ghosh, and it asks whether a killer who loses his memory is still the same person.
