Breakfast with Scot

Eric is a former hockey player, now a sportscaster on television. His partner Sam is a sports lawyer. The two of them live quietly in Toronto without opening the door to many people. Then Scot, the eleven-year-old stepson of Sam's brother, arrives on their doorstep having lost his mother to an overdose. The boy hides nothing about himself: he wears jewellery, he sings, he dresses as he likes. The arrangement Eric and Sam had is shaken by it. Laurie Lynd directs, adapting Michael Downing's novel. The NHL and the Toronto Maple Leafs allowed the team's logo and uniforms to be used in it, the first such approval a professional sports league had given a film with a gay theme.
