What Brothers Is About
Markus is ten and Lukas is seven; they live in an old yellow townhouse in the middle of Oslo with a river running close by. The documentary is about the bond between the two brothers: the games they play, their fights, what they imagine ahead of them, and the way their language changes as they grow. It was filmed by Aslaug Holm, their mother, who kept the camera in her hands over years and recorded the end of childhood step by step. The account does not run like a family album but like a film about time itself, with the mother looking back at her own past as well. The hundred and six minute Norwegian documentary was completed in 2015.
