Brothers in Arms

The documentary tells how the film Platoon was made. Charlie Sheen narrates it. The cast and crew share their own experiences. Their accounts are given first hand. Platoon was an independent, low budget, non-union production. It was cast almost entirely with young, unknown actors. For most of them it was a first film. Chief among the things recalled is the punishing boot camp. Oliver Stone’s way of directing is inside the account too. The weight of the filming conditions is another subject. Willem Dafoe, Johnny Depp and Tom Berenger appear in it, as do Keith David and John C. McGinley. Paul Sanchez’s American documentary of 2018 runs a hundred minutes.
