What Captain Pantoja and the Special Services Is About
Captain Pantaleón Pantoja is the army's most meticulous officer: orders followed to the letter, everything logged, nothing left undone. His superiors hand him a strange assignment, to set up a discreet service of women for the soldiers at remote jungle outposts. He approaches it like any other job and does it perfectly, and precisely because of that thoroughness the operation grows past anyone's control. Adapted from Mario Vargas Llosa's novel, and both funny and uncomfortable about what bureaucracy can make ordinary.
