The documentary is about the video rental shops that opened the door to home viewing in Brazil in the era before streaming. How the small neighbourhood shops of São Paulo were set up, how the shelves were arranged, how particular films were tracked down and how in the end that whole arrangement disappeared are the headings of the account. Shop owners, the people who worked in them, regular customers and film writers speak; all of them describe what renting a film was like and what kind of relationship choosing and being recommended a film created.
