What Ciro and Me Is About
The documentary takes up Ciro Galindo. Galindo was born in Colombia on the twenty ninth of August 1952. Wherever he went, war found him. For more than sixty years he has been running from it. What he wants now is to live in peace. The person who filmed him is a friend of twenty years. Over that friendship the director noticed something. Ciro’s life sums up the history of Colombia. Like so many Colombians he is a survivor. The account is a journey towards memory. The effort to find words for sorrow is at the centre of it. Ciro and his son Esneider appear in Miguel Salazar’s Colombian documentary of 2018, which runs a hundred and seven minutes.
