Citizen Piszczyk

The film is built as the sequel to another film. It opens in a cinema. On the screen the last scenes of the earlier film are playing. Piszczyk is a man whose luck always runs the wrong way. In the Stalin years he got into trouble. He spent years in prison. In 1956 he is released. Outside he tries to build a new life. He meets a woman keen on politics. Her family are people of influence. The two of them marry and have a child. But the bad luck does not let go of him. Jerzy Stuhr and Maria Pakulnis take the leads, with Kazimierz Kaczor also in the cast, in Andrzej Kotkowski’s Polish film of 1989.
