Class Trip

Nicolas is ten and frightened all the time. His father has told him so much about the dangers of the world that the boy expects something terrible at any moment. He goes on the school ski trip. The dormitory, the snow, the other children: each is its own unease. Then word comes that a child has gone missing in a nearby village. What Nicolas imagines and what is actually happening outside begin to run into one another. Claude Miller directs, adapting Emmanuel Carrère's 1995 novel, which the two of them wrote for the screen together. It won the Jury Prize at Cannes. It is about how fear grows inside a child.
