What Closer to Heaven Is About
Lee Ji-soo works as a funeral director. She has been married and divorced twice. One day she runs into someone she used to know. His name is Baek Jong-woo. Jong-woo has come to arrange his mother’s funeral. The two of them meet again. Jong-woo has been ill since he was young. The illness is ALS. The muscles lose their strength over time. They marry all the same. The illness moves quickly. Jong-woo tries to push her away. What he wants is to protect Ji-soo. Ji-soo does not leave his side. The film tells this without asking for pity. Ha Ji-won and Kim Myung-min appear in the hundred and twenty one minute film, a South Korean production Park Jin-pyo finished in 2009.
