In this collective film commissioned from six directors by South Korea’s National Human Rights Commission, each part takes up a form of discrimination in the country. Im Soon-rye’s section is about a high school girl passed over for work because of her appearance, and Park Kwang-su’s about settings where people are judged by their faces. Yeo Kyun-dong watches a disabled man trying to cross a street, while Park Jin-pyo follows a child put on an operating table so that his English pronunciation will improve. Jeong Jae-eun tells of a man convicted of a sexual offence returning to his neighbourhood and asks whether rights apply to the least liked person as well. Park Chan-wook’s section is about Chandra Kumari Gurung, a Nepalese worker held for years in a mental hospital. The hundred and ten minute Korean production was completed in 2003.
