What Come, Sweet Death Is About
Brenner, a former policeman, now drives an ambulance, and finds himself, entirely against his wishes, in the middle of a war between two rival first aid services; in Vienna, getting to a patient before the competition is treated as a normal part of the job. It is the first of Wolfgang Murnberger's films from Wolf Haas's novels, with Josef Hader as Brenner, and the series continued from here. Silentium, the second, came four years later. Black comedy and an actual murder run side by side.
