What Silentium Is About
In Salzburg, a man who had said a Catholic bishop abused him as a child is found dead. Everyone settles on suicide and goes quiet about it; the only two who will not are his widow and Simon Brenner, an ex-policeman turned bad tempered private detective. What Brenner keeps running into is not a single crime but an institution's reflex to protect itself. It is Wolfgang Murnberger's second film from Wolf Haas's novels, with the screenplay written by Haas, Murnberger and Josef Hader, who plays Brenner.
