What Cookies Is About
Henri sells umbrellas and is stuck between his job, his family and his passion for painting, with the affairs he finds on the road his only escape from the pressure at home. One day he leaves everything, goes to Pont-Aven in Brittany and meets Emile, a painter imitating Gauguin, and the two get along over drink and women. Joel Seria's film comes out of the seventies French sex comedy tradition and was long treated as a cult item in France. One thing to know before watching: its attitude to sex and to very young women belongs to the habits of its period and is not defensible now.
