Crayon Shin-chan: Great Adventure In Henderland

The children of Futaba Kindergarten are excited about their trip to an amusement park called Henderland. The park is strange: the puppets inside move on their own and the staff behave oddly. Shin-chan meets a puppet named Kabutomushi and learns from him that the park is in fact a trap set by a witch. The witch Mala and her assistant Chamomile are planning to take over the city. Mitsuru Hongo's film is the third Crayon Shin-chan feature and counts among the best liked in the series. The narrative keeps the crude humour while noticeably raising the visual design; the park sequences and the drawing of the villains carry a different tone from the series. The final section is unexpectedly dark and goes somewhere unusual for children's animation. Who it's for: Crayon Shin-chan viewers, and anyone who likes 1990s anime comedy and adventure animation. Who it's not for: The humour rests on body jokes. Some sections may also be too frightening for small children.
