What Damnation Is About
Karrer lives in a Hungarian town where the rain never stops. He has no work and nobody, and spends his days at the Titanik Bar because of the singer there, who is married. When a smuggling job comes his way he does not take it himself; he passes it to her husband, to get the man out of the road. What he does next is worse. Tarr's first film written with Krasznahorkai: long takes, grey walls, mud and dogs. Small plot, long running time, and an unforgettable final scene.
